How can I get back to my natural hair color?

I have naturally light brown hair with a tint of red to it

But I've dyed my hair a lot in the past couple of years.

Most recently, I dyed it dark brown.

I want to go back to my natural color because I'm tired of the upkeep of dying my hair darker.

How can I do this? How can I get back to my natural hair color?
You can try adding lemon juice to your hair, its a weak acid so i might strip the fake color out of your hair.

You can grow your hair out, not dye it, and then cut off the parts that are dyed.

You can dye it your natural color, so when it fades it will be the same and it will require no upkeep.

You can buy products that will nutralize your hair color and fade the dye out quicker. How can I get back to my natural hair color?
your best bet is to see your hair stylist. a professional will know how to match the color perfectly and strip your hair without causing damage.

if you're looking to do it yourself, see if you can get a hold of some rusk i.d. color remover. this isn't a bleach so it's not as damaging to your hair. it smells terrible but works magic. the only problem with this is when it lifts the color there might be spots. because of the different volumes of peroxides in box colors, this is unavoidable. if you had it professionally colored before now, it shouldn't be so spotty. choose a color that is close to your natural with red undertones. make sure it can cover gray or that you use a 30 or 40 volume developer with it to try to even out those spots. if there are no spots use a 10 volume developer.

this is going to be damaging to your hair so try to treat it with some heavy duty conditioners before hand. if you have naturally thick, curly hair go for a moisturizing conditioner. for straight, thin hair use a protein conditioner.

remember, it's better to see a professional. they can better determine the health of your hair and color needed.
i think time resolves everything.
