I've never heard of hair becoming ';damaged'; because of water, especially natural hair. Water is a natural moisturizer and is actually healthy for your hair. You'll notice that of the hair products you own are water-based or has water as an ingredient. I have curly, too, and I don't have a problem with wetting my hair every day, in fact, it reactivates the hair product. And, sometimes my leave-ins and moisturizers work better with damp or wet hair. You can dampen it if you don't want to wet it. But, then again, it depends on what you mean by ';damaged.';
Straightening exacerbates the frizz when you wear it curly, so if you're straightening several times a week then not only are you damaging your hair but you're making it frizzier.
You can use anti-frizz products that will control frizz. I use Wen cleansing conditioner and that nearly eliminates my frizz. It's better if you buy salon brands or the more expensive products rather than drug store. Expensive products tend to be superior to their cheaper counterparts. Carol's Daughter and Mixed Chicks are designed for curly hair and you can look into those.
BTW, what is ';mixed'; hair? It's either straight, curly, wavy, or kinky/curly.How can i keep my natural hair curly without wetting it everyday?
Get a scrunch moose, shockwaves do loads of good ones %26amp; it's cheap! Just whatever you do don't do the bottled conditioner water idea, this made my hair go like a poodle :S
My hair is frizzy and curly too. Try Bedhead After Party. It comes in a pink container and works very nicely.Don't put a large amount or it will make your hair greasy!
Add conditioner to bottled water, spritz and finger comb them.
