How can I make my natural hair seem longer without extentions?

I want my hair to look good for my birthday (which is coming up in three days) but I don't want to use extentions. My hair is very short and I want it to look longer. Any ideas?How can I make my natural hair seem longer without extentions?
My hair is pretty short as well, it looks really good if you straighten it and pin up your bangs(if you have any), it makes your look much longer. Also if you can put in a little pony -tail, or a messy bun.

buy a wig.......jk if ur hair is curly u could straighten it.....idk how short is short???
DON'T CUT IT
drink lots of milk and ornge juice
get ghd's, and straighten it. take time on each strand, gliding it down slowly.
Straighten it, It will make it seem longer.
keep it wet or put it up.
Well... I'm not much of a hair expert, but I find that when you wear your hair as part-up part-down, it seems longer. You know, when you have the top layers of hair in a ponytail, and the rest down normally. It gives that kind of contrast, you know?

oh the best i can think of is blow dry it nothing else.
