How do I go about treating my natural hair after taking out a sew in weave?

I know how to take out the weave but my question is how do I go about treating my hair? My hair is in desperate need of a shampoo and probably a deep conditioner, I can't make it to a salon till my stylist gets back in about two weeks from vacation. So I will be doing this myself, whats the best way about treating my hair after taking out a sew in weave? (step by step instructions, shampoo brands, etc.)

After taking out your weave, follow these steps.

1) Comb your hair out. I would recommend using a detangling spray if it has lots of knots.

2) Pre-poo using a conditioner. I like Dark %26amp; Lovely or Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise. Just rub the conditioner in and cover with a shower cap for 30 minutes. Comb through.

3) Rinse out and shampoo with any brand except Pantene! I recommend At One Hydrating Shampoo or Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Wash until clean!

4) Depending on how soft your hair is, you may want to add a handful of bottled conditioner and rinse out. I wouldn't use leave in conditioner on natural hair.

5) Towel dry excess water and use a moisturising lotion like Soft'n'Free to blow dry. Don't add too much as lotion + heat = hair frying!

6) Grease your scalp with a petroleum based product like At One Root Revitaliser. I know petroleum based products are thought to be bad, but for freshly washed natural hair, they are quite good. If you don't like them, ORS Carrot Oil is good.

When I took out my braids I followed these steps.

Be careful becuase you can pull out more of your hair.

Well first do not comb your hair with a regular comb.

Get a wide tooth comb

Start combing at the ends and move towards the roots.

Comb gently

Part your hair into four sections

Depending on the shampoo you use.

I use a beer shampoo it is really good as a sealant and it is great for untangling

Shampoo your hair about 2 times

I use a honey conditioner

Yea I said honey

It is a great conditioner

This process relaxes your hair

My hair is in great shape but I would not do the braids for a long period of time because it in the end kinda damaged my hair. From the pulling it up in a ponytail it caused me to pull some of my hair out.

But I have a youtube video about the shampooing process and honey conditioner.

I go over the benefits of using beer and honey on your hair.

I hope this helps
