I am currently doing a science research thing at school with this being my testable question. I am looking for information about connections between these two variables, but cannot seem to find any information anywhere. Please help me, and thanks in advance if you can.Is there a connection between the natural hair color of someone, and their memory skill?
smarter people have more zinc and copper in their hair.Is there a connection between the natural hair color of someone, and their memory skill?
You probably cant find any credible information because no one wants to be in danger of actualy saying that blondes are dumb.
Not finding any credible information is not a problem when doing research, all it means is that the field is wide open.
You basically have several options,
design an experiment and run it.
dig up the actual data on memory experiments.
perform observation.
The first will be extremely hard to get going in a school, there is tons of paperwork and the like involved with performing human experiments. You can do it with your friends though. Just find a simple memory test, and get people to take it, then analyze by hair color.
The second will yield the best results, but finding the actual data sets can be extremely difficult. You might have to dig through university archives to find it, and much of will not be in electronic format, so you will have to go through it by hand. This would be the beginning of a graduate level project, but you might get lucky and find some useful data that can be accessed easily making it a good undergrad project.
You can do the last by finding a good place to watch people where they need to use their memory. Finding a spot near the info desk in a mall would be a good start. Just observe who seems to be able to remember directions. This has two major pitfalls though, directions use spatial memory, and observer bias will be present.
Good luck, Dont believe this is a nonsense project. If the folks doing research believe this is a nonsense study, that just means the folks with degrees are biased. Research like this does occasionaly yield actual results.
That's because there IS no such information. You could TRY getting people to (honestly) answer a questionnaire as to their hair-color and then to take a short memory-skill test. I'd say, though, that you would be hard-pressed to get a statistically-significant sample to do that for such a dumb proposition. There is no reason at all to suspect that memory skills are related in any way to hair color - ';blonde jokes'; notwithstanding. So, you really ought to select a better research concept.
