How on earth could glue in extensions stunt natural hair growth?

I just recently read this, but that doesnt make any sense at all because your hair grows from your scalp, not from the outer part of it. I dont see how having glue on your hair could make your hair stop growing. How on earth could glue in extensions stunt natural hair growth?
No, glue in extensions don't affect the scalp unless glue is getting on your scalp. It appears as if the hair is not growing because the glue causes the hair to break at such a rapid rate. It is very difficult to retain length with this type of extension and I would not recommend it for any hair type! How on earth could glue in extensions stunt natural hair growth?
it's not the glue itself that causes a stunt in hair growth. it's the process it takes to remove the glue. the combing and manipulation needed to remove the glue can result in hair breakage, and if your hair is breaking off at a faster rate than it's growing in, you will see a 'stunt' in hair growth.
Glue is just the same as putting chemicals in your hair.

It dries out your hair and clogs your hair's natural pores which will eventually make those pieces of hair break off. You know how people go to the salon to get their dead end off so they can have healthy hair growth? well its really just to prevent your hair future hair from getting split ends when you use glue its like putting split ends at your roots.
i don't know
