Is it possible to go from chemically relaxed hair to natural hair?

....without chopping the relaxed part off? And please don't go into detal on how relaxers are damaging, I already know that.Is it possible to go from chemically relaxed hair to natural hair?
no once you get a relaxer, it permanently straightens your hair. Only way to get it back to its natural state is to grow out the ';new'; hair. If you dont want to cut it all off at once, just keep trimming the ends and dont get any more relaxers. That is called transitioning. It will be easier to keep your hair untouched (braids, curls) to let your hair grow without putting stress on it.

yeah.... u just grow it out. it takes a while though and can look really messy. u have to comb it, the straight part and the new growth so that it doesn't pop out.
You can do it gradually with braids and weaves. If you leave it out, having half your hair permed and half natural looks a little tacky. If you don't want to do a ';big chop';... go with braids, weaves, or wigs. Braids are my choice
No there is no way to remove the relaxer from your hair without cutting it off. if you dont want to cut it off yet, and you want to grow out your natural hair first, the best way is to stop relaxing and transition with braids, cornrows, or sew in weaves. sew in weaves seem to cause my hair and scalp the least stress. visit www.nappturality.com and browse the forums for hair tips from other people in various states of natural-ness.
Well, generally chemical relaxers wear off over time - around 6 weeks - 6 months, depending on your hair type and how porous it was before the treatment.

If it doesn't, you could try heat curlers, which may eventually put some of the spring back into it.
